Good Neighbors International Uganda successfully constructed and handed over 7 school-based and 2 health facility-based Girl Friendly Spaces (GFS) in Jinja to the government. This is a further commitment of GNIUG to support the health, dignity and education of young girls in Jinja.
The 3 new Girl-Friendly Spaces (GFS) at Mutai PS, Bulugo Muslim PS & Butagaya HC III. Girls using these spaces now have access to clean, safe and private spaces where they can manage their menstrual health with dignity. These spaces are are intended in breaking Mestrual taboos, promoting gender equality and ensuring every girl has the confidence to stay in school and thrive.
Since 2023, our MHM programs have reached 19,920 girls & 11,726 boys with knowledge and support in Menstrual Hygiene Management
