Good Neighbors International Uganda conducted a peer education activity among the 5 schools in the current year project implementation (wairaka P/S, Kagoma P/S and Bituli P/S as old schools while Namaganga P/S and Iziru P/S as new schools). Total 90 girls and 45 boys participated in the peer education as trainers or trainees. This was done with the objective of sharing experiences, information and inspiration between old Girls Ambassadors (GA) and Boys members with the new Boys and GA club members in the new schools. Fellow learners shared the responsibilities and positive changes that have happened in their day today lives since they joined the clubs under Good Neighbors as well as the knowledge on sexual reproductive health and rights for girls such as menstruation, hygiene, STDs, importance of school education, etc. Kagoma P/s Old GA members visited Wairaka P/S new GA members, Namaganga Old GA members visited Iziru new GA members while for Bituli P/S, peer education was held within their school where old GA members taught fellow new GA members within the school.
*This activity is a part of the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Improvement Project for Girls in Jinja District (Phase II) funded by KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) and implemented by Good Neighbors International.
